On 23.09.2009 Singapore's Land Transport Authority (LTA) awarded to Alpine Bau GmbH (Singapore Branch) the last two contracts of the 10 major civil contracts for the 16.6 km DTL2 with 12 stations and one depot. Contract C917, value EUR156 million, for design and construction of 1.8 km section Sixth Avenue-King Albert Park, including a twin-tube tunnel to be built by TBM and the two 123 m-long stations. Contract C918, value EUR170.3 million, for design and construction of 2.2 km section, including a twin tube tunnel (920 m) to be built with two EPB slurry TBMs, the Tan Kah Kee station (234 m), a cut and cover section (445 m) and a twin tube tunnel (560 m) to be built with an EPB. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded the final three civil contracts for the Downtown Line Stage 3 (DTL3) project in Singapore. The contracts are for the construction of twin-tube tunnels between Tampines East and Upper Changi (Shanghai Tunnel Engineering, value EUR52.4 million) and underground stations at Upper Changi (Samsung C&T, value EUR147.7 million) and Bendemeer (Penta Ocean, value EUR123.7 million). McConnell Dowell South East Asia Pte Ltd has completed tunnelling on Downtown Metro Line 2 Contract 916 Beauty World for the Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA), valued at approximately EUR170 million. Two 6.64 m-diameter TBMs progressed in a variety of ground conditions ranging from 200 Mpa unweathered granites to soil, with plenty of mixed face in between.
