Project scope
Restricted tender for the construction of the D1 Turany–Hubová motorway section, a 13.53 km-long segment of the D1 motorway corridor in northern Slovakia. The project forms part of the strategic east–west motorway connection between Bratislava and Košice, crossing mountainous terrain in the Malá Fatra region.
The works include construction of a new motorway alignment incorporating tunnels, bridges, interchanges, retaining structures and associated motorway infrastructure. The section is designed to bypass existing congested routes and improve continuity of the D1 corridor through central Slovakia.

Tunnel characteristics
Two major twin-tube motorway tunnels form the core underground works on the section:
- Korbeľka tunnel – approximately 5.9 km
- Havran tunnel – approximately 2.9 km
The tunnels will carry dual carriageway motorway traffic and include cross-passages, emergency and safety systems, ventilation, lighting and operational control equipment consistent with EU motorway tunnel safety requirements.
