Parsons Brinckerhoff will be carrying out the design for electrical and mechanical systems, tunnel portals, escape staircases, and ventilation buildings and will perform various associated civil and architectural tasks. Total length of the proposed construction is 5 km. The MCE will be constructed mainly underground. The route comprises a 3.5 km underground tunnel and a 1.5 km above ground/depressed road structure. It will create direct connections to the downtown area at Marina Bay and the Marina South area from the south of the state.
