Project Scope
Rete Ferroviaria Italiana has issued an open tender for the detailed design and construction works to upgrade the loading gauge of several railway tunnels on the Baranello–Campobasso section of the Roccaravindola–Isernia–Campobasso railway line. The works form part of the programme to electrify the line.
The contract includes gauge enlargement and structural interventions in three tunnels, together with complementary works in four additional tunnels along the corridor.
Main tunnels included in the contract:
- Colle Porcina Tunnel (G7) – km 73+321 / 73+691
- Sella delle Vetiche Tunnel (G2) – km 82+287 / 82+726
- Contrafforte Ferrazzano Tunnel (G1) – km 83+461 / 83+813
Complementary interventions:
- Colle Serrano Tunnel (G3) – km 81+788 / 81+984
- San Salvatore Tunnel (G4) – km 80+749 / 81+476
- Colle Alto Tunnel (G6) – km 77+980 / 78+549
- Colle Barone Tunnel (G5) – km 79+866 / 80+260
Works are expected to include tunnel profile enlargement, lining modifications and associated railway infrastructure upgrades required for the installation of overhead electrification systems.
