Project Scope
CNIR has launched an open procedure for supervision services during the design and construction of Section 1 of the Targu Neamt – Iasi – Ungheni motorway in northern Romania.

The contract covers the 27 km Targu Neamt (Motca) – Targu Frumos section (km 0+000 – km 31+500), excluding the subsection km 5+500 – km 10+000, which forms part of the A7 Bacau – Pascani motorway and includes the interchange linking the two motorways.

The supervision services contract includes monitoring of design development, construction activities, quality assurance, safety compliance and contract administration throughout the implementation of the motorway section.

The project forms part of the future A8 motorway corridor, connecting Moldova with Transylvania and extending towards the border with Moldova at Ungheni.

Four cut-and-cover road tunnels forming part of the motorway section:

• Tunnel 1: 380 m
• Tunnel 2: 680 m
• Tunnel 3: 400 m
• Tunnel 4: 250 m
