Veidekke from Stockholm has been awarded by Stockholm Vatten och Avfall the EUR 78.27 million (SEK 898 million) contract to build a new 4km wastewater tunnel with an associated access tunnel that will relieve Stockholm's wastewater system and reduce flood risk. The new Mässtunneln tunnel will run from Stockholmsmassan in Alvsjo (Stockholm) through Solberga, Vastberga and Midsommarkransen to Liljeholmen. The access tunnel will be built at Kontrollvägen in northern Solberga, from which the wastewater tunnel will be blasted and drilled in two directions. In September, 2009 the Swedish Road Authority decided to give a go-ahead for the Förbifart Stockholm, or Stockholm Bypass.
