The following 4 suppliers AF Gruppen Norge AS, Implenia Norge AS, Skanska Norge A and JV Salini Impregilo SpA /Impresa Pizzarotti & C SpA, have sent requests to participate in the competition to build a new E16 between Bjorum and Skaret.  The 8.4km new 4-lane highway project extends from Bjorum in Baerum municipality to Skaret in Hole municipality. The speed limit is 100 km / h.

The project includes 2 motorway junctions,  Bukkesteinshogda (790 m) and Sollihogda (3310 m) tunnels, 10 bridges, up to 220 m long, 3 million m3 of mass will be moved.

The old E16 will be converted into a local road, with associated pedestrian and cycle paths.
