Project Scope
Framework for environmental construction supervision (Umweltbaubegleitung – UBB) for the eastern section of Hamburg’s U5 metro line (section U5M1000: City Nord – Jarrestraße). The scope covers monitoring and ensuring compliance with environmental, ecological and regulatory requirements during construction.
Key tasks include ecological monitoring and implementation of landscape protection measures, supervision of species and habitat protection, and verification of compensation measures in accordance with planning approvals. The contractor will also oversee soil, groundwater and emissions protection (including noise and vibration), undertake regular site inspections, and maintain comprehensive environmental documentation throughout the construction phase.
The U5 is a fully automated metro line under development in Hamburg, forming a major east–west underground corridor and involving extensive tunnelling works, station construction and emergency infrastructure.
