Project Scope
Major motorway construction contract for the D1 Turany–Hubová section (13.53 km), forming part of Slovakia’s east–west motorway corridor.

The project includes construction of new dual carriageway motorway infrastructure through mountainous terrain, with significant tunnelling works, bridges, earthworks and associated systems. The section is a key missing link on the D1 corridor and includes complex geotechnical conditions requiring extensive underground construction.

Tunnel Characteristics

• Korbeľka tunnel: approximately 5.9 km
• Havran tunnel: approximately 2.9 km
• Twin-tube motorway tunnels (planned)
• Excavation expected using drill-and-blast methods
• Includes cross passages, ventilation, safety and monitoring systems

Contract Value
€1.57 billion (excluding VAT).

2,555 days.
