Contract Description
Interbiak Bizkaia S.A. has launched an open tender procedure for the construction of the Lamiako under-river tunnel (Lot 2), starting from the left bank of the Bilbao estuary. The project forms part of a strategic road infrastructure scheme aimed at improving connectivity within the metropolitan Bilbao area.

Scope of Works
The contract includes the execution of civil works for an under-river road tunnel with the following main characteristics:
• Tunnel lengths:
o 3,154.3 m
o 3,119.6 m
• Construction method:
o NATM (New Austrian Tunnelling Method)
• Alignment:
o Crossing beneath the Bilbao estuary
• Connections:
o From the Artaza roundabout (Getxo)
o To the Ballonti roundabout, located between Portugalete and Sestao
Works include all associated excavation, structural, lining, safety, and technical installations required for the completion of the tunnel section under Lot 2.
