Contract Description
Azienda Trasporti Milanesi S.p.A. has launched an open tender procedure for the upgrade of generator systems, electrical substations, and replacement of power cables on the Milan Metro Lines M1 and M2.
The project is part of a wider programme to enhance the reliability, safety, and operational resilience of Milan’s metropolitan rail infrastructure.
Scope of Works
The contract covers the modernisation and renewal of critical electrical infrastructure across the M1 and M2 metro lines, including:
• Upgrade and refurbishment of generator systems
• Modernisation of electrical substations
• Replacement of existing power and distribution cables
• Integration of new electrical equipment with existing metro infrastructure
• Testing, commissioning, and associated safety works
All works are to be carried out while maintaining metro operations and in compliance with applicable safety and technical standards.

• Estimated value: EUR 18.25 million
