130 km route length with 30 km in tunnel comprising 15 x 150 m2 NATM technique totalling 14.22 km, 12 km of 145m2 rectangular cut and cover, and 1.65 km of twin tube 104 m2 shield-driven. Most tunnels are less than 2 km in length. Of note are Himmelberg (2.4 km), Siegenau (2.1 km) and the 4.2 km cut-and-cover to the Koln-Bonn airport. Most drives got under way in 1998 with the two TBM drives commencing 1999. All for completion 2001. March 1999.
