Sytral, from November 2016 to January 2018, studied the feasibility of a new metro line connecting the center of Lyon to Alai station in Tassin-la-Demi-Lune (at the border between Francheville and the fifth arrondissement of Lyon) with the aim of improving the public transport service of Lyon and the municipalities to the West of  Lyon.

The study showed this project was feasible and identified two alignments to be evaluated: 6 km in tunnels from Bellecour to Alai, 5 stations and connections with lines A and D or a 6.6 km tunnel from the Hotel de Ville in Alai, 6 stations and connections with line A and C.

In April Sytral will decide whether to continue with the studies for the new metro E line towards Alai. For further information click here and visit http://www.sytral.fr/. 10/18.
