Skanska has signed the EUR54.56 million contract for the renovation of the Ekeberg (1580 m, 1580 m) and Svartdals (1460 m, 1700 m) tunnels on the E6/E18 in Oslo, Norway. Nye Veier, planner and operator of Norwegian motorways selected the Joint Venture of Implenia (69%) and Stangeland (31%) as preferred suppliers for the motorway E39 Lyngdal east - Lyngdal west. The route is part of the development E39 Sorvest between Kristiansand and Stavanger, and runs between Herdal and Roysgard in Lyngdal municipality. The legally binding decision and contract award is expected in the middle of July, 2021. It is a EUR 288.83 million (NOK2.9 bn) turnkey contract. Norconsult has secured a €2.8 million contract to design a 10 km section of the city's ring road including three double-tube tunnels (1.6 km, 2.6 km, and 3.5 km), cross sections 2 x 55 sq metres, to be built in hard rock, probably using drill/blast. Work may start in 2004-2005. Norconsult is also responsible for the geological studies. Project cost around €250 million. Financing by the Norwegian public roads administration and toll.
