Open call for bids, deadline 26th May, 2003 for collection, interpretation and reporting of refraction and reflection seismic measurements at sea and on land for three subsea tunnel projects named Langfjord connection, Sande mainland connection and Mí¸re connection. Length is still not decided but Langfjorden will be approximately 6.7 km, Sande approximately 6.2 km and Mí¸re around 7.5 km. Tunnel profile T8.5 (width 8.5 m for two lanes). Expected geology for the Mí¸re and Langfjorden connections will be mainly gneisses and for the Sande connection, some gneisses and some limestone/marble. Drill/blast tunnelling. Support with shotcrete, rock bolts and armed shotcrete arches. Projects in early design. Estimated costs: NOK400-800 million (Langfjorden), NOK350-800 million (Sande) and NOK450-1,000 million (Mí¸re). Financing probably by toll.
