Contract Description

FEDRO has awarded a contract for the maintenance and modernization of the management and safety systems (BSA) in the Mont du Raimeux tunnel, a 3,390 m tunnel located on the A16 motorway between the Moutier and Choindez junctions.

The contract has been awarded to WSP Ingenieurs Conseils SA, based in Lausanne, Switzerland. The project involves upgrading the tunnel’s operational, safety and monitoring systems to ensure compliance with current standards and to maintain long-term tunnel safety and reliability.

 

Scope of Works

The contract includes:
• Maintenance of existing management and safety systems
• Modernization and technical upgrades of BSA (tunnel control, monitoring, and safety installations)
• System testing, commissioning, and documentation
• Ensuring operational reliability and regulatory compliance of tunnel infrastructure

 

Contract Value

• Awarded value: EUR 4.47 million
• Equivalent: CHF 4.17 million (including 8.1% VAT)

 

Project Background

The Mont du Raimeux tunnel is a critical segment of the A16 motorway, forming part of the trans-Swiss transport corridor. Upgrading its management and safety systems is essential to maintain high safety standards for vehicle traffic and to comply with modern tunnel regulations.
