The contract is for the construction of the Holland, Buona Vista and National University Hospital stations, 4 km of 5.8 m-diameter twin bored tunnels and 350 m of cut-and-cover tunnels. Nishimatsu-Lum Chang's bids were between SGD376.4 million and SGD389 million. The next lowest bids, from the Woh Hup-Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co.-Alpine Mayreder consortium, were between SGD391 million and SGD398 million. The other bids came from Obayashi (SGD400.3 million), SembCorp Engineers (between SGD399 million and SGD404 million) and a team formed by Shimizu and United Engineers (between SGD448.8 million and SGD452.6 million).
