The consortium Webuild Group (51% lead)/Implenia (49%) have been selected as best bidder for the design and construction of the quadrupling of the current Fortezza-Verona railway, section Fortezza-Ponte Gardena (Lot 1). The new 25 km from the Fortezza interconnection to the Ponte Gardena station, will include the two twin tube tunnels Scaleres (15.4 km) and Gardena (6.3 km), joined by a viaduct over the Eisack River.
