The JV Sintagma Srl from Perugia (leader), Rocksoil SpA from Torre Boldone (BG) and E.D.IN. Srl from Rome secured the EUR 6.7 million contract, excluding VAT, for the qualified support on definitive design of the new railway connection Palermo - Catania, Lercara branch - Caltanissetta Xirbi section (lot 3) and Caltanissetta Xirbi - Enna section (Lot 4a).
The section between the stations Lercara branch (included) and Caltanissetta Xirbi (included) is 48 km long, 21 km of which will be underground with 7 tunnels, whose length is between 1 km and 8 km. The section between the stations Caltanissetta Xirbi (not included) and Enna (included) is 27 km long, 20 km of which underground with 3 tunnels, whose length is between 2 km and 13 km.
