Project Description

The contract concerns VE 30 structural works for the western tunnel section of the 2nd Munich S‑Bahn Main Line, including:

Construction of two single‑track running tunnels between the western portal near Donnersbergerbrücke and the Marienhof station area (exclusive).

In the mined tunnel section: construction of four emergency shafts with connecting rescue adits to the main tunnels.

Construction (shell works) of a new underground S‑Bahn station at Hauptbahnhof Bahnhofplatz, featuring:

Two tracks
Separate boarding and alighting platforms (Spanish solution)
Access structures (central entrance, Schützenstraße entrance, Bayerstraße emergency exit)

Intermediate levels, technical rooms, and connections to existing U‑Bahn structures.

Reason for Modification

The contracting authority identified unforeseen site conditions during preparatory specialist foundation works for the western extension. An unknown groundwater monitoring well was encountered.

The groundwater measuring point must be dismantled and removed to ensure:

Protection of the filtered aquifer

Continuation of construction activities

Compliance with water‑management regulations

The modification does not alter the overall construction task, but is required to maintain environmental protection and project continuity.
