Im Zuge des zweigleisigen Ausbaus der Koralmbahn durch die ÖBB Infrastruktur AG wird die Feste Fahrbahn (Bauart Slab Track Austria) auf der Strecke Feldkirchen - Weitendorf errichtet. Der gegenständliche
Abschnitt ist ca. 3745 m lang. Im genannten Abschnitt befindet sich der Flughafentunnel Graz. Dieser ist ein einröhriger, zweigleisiger Tunnel mit einer Gesamtlänge von 3251 m.
Zusätzlich werden in Teilbereichen unterschiedlich abgestimmte Masse-Feder-Systeme angeordnet.
