On 24.01.2012 work started on the Via Parque Rimac, a new Peruvian road construction project of the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima to connect Via Evitamiento highway to Callao Province, reducing traffic congestion. The new expressway, built by the Peruvian company LAMSAC, will run from the Huascar Bridge to the intersection of Universitaria Avenue and Morales Duarez Avenue. It will include eleven viaducts and a 2 km-long tunnel under the Rimac river. Total cost estimated to be EUR567 million. For more on the project click here. 06/12.
