The Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) is a strategic project between the Governments of Malaysia and Singapore that aims to facilitate seamless travel between the two capital cities. The HSR will connect 6 cities in Malaysia to Singapore, following a coastal route. With terminus stations in Kuala Lumpur's Bandar Malaysia and Singapore's Jurong East, the HSR link is expected to cut the travel time between the two cities to 90 minutes.
The Governments of both countries signed a Bilateral Agreement on 13.12.2016, which captured the key points of agreement on the project, including the technical parameters, commercial model, customs, immigration and quarantine clearance, safety and security matters, regulatory framework and project management approach. The Governments of Malaysia and Singapore have tasked
MyHSR Corporation Sdn Bhd (MyHSR) of Malaysia and Land Transport Authority (LTA)of Singapore respectively to implement the project. The reference Design Consultant (RDC) contracts for the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore HSR project have been recently awarded. The appointed consultants will be responsible for the preparation of the design for the HSR civil infrastructure, this will include bridges, tunnels and the seven stations in Malaysia. As the civil infrastructure will traverse approximately 335 km, the work has been divided into six packages. The governments of Singapore and Malaysia expect to complete the Singapore – Kuala Lumpur high speed line by the end of 2026. Click my/21 and sg/28 for tunnelbuilder archive.
