In the first half of this year, TERRATEC has secured orders for the supply of 7 TBMs around the globe.

In Turkey the joint venture formed by Turkish Companies Senbay, Kolin and Kalyon has ordered 2 new EPBMs, diameter 6.56 m, with mixed cutter heads, for the construction of the new section of the Istanbul Metro between Dudulli and Bostasnci in the City. The TBMs, which have proven to smoothly excavate through Istanbul’s mixed geology, are currently under production and will complete the factory tests in the last quarter of 2016. 

In Thailand the Metropolitan City of Bangkok keeps expanding its services network, therefore more cables and water tunnels are being constructed. To support the execution of these tunnels, TERRATEC will supply 1 EPB TBM, diameter 3.20 m, for the Pra Khanong Cable Tunnel Project to Thai Contractor Nawarat Patanakarn PCL. The machine will be delivered in September this year.

In addition, 2 sets of EPB TBMs, diameter 5.70 m,  will be delivered to Sino-Thai Engineering & Construction PCL for the Nong Bon Drainage Project. These two machines will be delivered in the first quarter of 2017. 

In India TERRATEC will supply 2 EPB TBMs, diameter 6.52m, for the joint venture between TATA Projects (India) and Gulermak (Turkey) this is for the construction of the Lucknow Metro, Contract LKCC-06. The machines are expected to commence the works in early 2017. 

More TBM orders are currently being finalised over the coming months and, together with several orders for the company’s other product lines - Raise Boring Machines, Microtunnelling TBMs and Conveyors, ensures that TERRATEC will continue to be very busy throughout 2017.
