Bruce Matheson has joined Terratec as Region Manager with a brief to expand the Australian TBM and RBM manufacturer’s activities in Africa, Middle East and Europe. Terratec is currently enjoying great success in south and east Asia, where, for example, it is fulfilling several orders for a total of eight TBMs for Delhi metro.
Over the last 25 years, from its home base facility in Tasmania, Terratec has designed, manufactured and refurbished more than 50 machines. As far back as 1993, a Terratec TBM in the hands of renowned contractor McConnell Dowell set records of 172 m in a day and 2,076 m in a month on a 13.4 km-long tunnel at Australia’s Blue Mountain project. This machine was backed up by the patented continuously advancing conveyor system designed by Terratec for use with TBMs in extremely long tunnels.
The company now has overseas regional offices in Hong Kong, India and Panama, with representatives in all world markets.
Matheson, with a masters degree in mining engineering, brings with him nearly 20 years of project-based experience in tunnelling projects in the Americas, Asia, Middle East and Europe. Download Terratec brochure and visit www.terratec.com.au. 21/13.
