DATEC has given the green light to the EUR1.6 billion (CHF1.95 billion) work programme 2014: EUR495 million (CHF604 million) for the construction of new sections, EUR1 bn (CHF1.25 billion) for operations and maintenance and EUR82 million (CHF 100 million) for reducing traffic congestion.

Among the new projects, continuation of the main works at the 2,255 m Kublis tunnel on A8, at Serrieres tunnel along A5 in the canton of Neuchatel.

In 2014 will start improvement and maintenance works of national roads: safety tunnels of  823m Sengg tunnel, 1,339 m Chuebalm tunnel and 3,340 m Giessbach tunnel on the  A8 in the canton of Bern; will continue works on some sections, including Belchen tunnel (3,180 m, 3,180 m) on the A2, Galgenbuck tunnel (1,138 m) on the A4 in the canton of Schaffhausen, Mosi tunnel (1,142 m) on the A4 in the canton of Schwyz, the ring of Roveredo on the A13, in the canton of Graubunden.
