Construction and civil engineering companies will be
informed about the Stockholm’s metro extension at the Supplier Day 2018,
organized by SLL (Stockholms lans landsting) on
Tuesday 13th November
2018 at Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Stockholm. Registration starts after the
summer period. Stockholm is one of the fastest growing metropolitan regions in
Europe. The population has been increasing by 35 000 a year.
In January 2014 the government, Stockholm County Council and
the City of Stockholm, Municipality of Nacka, Järfälla Municipality and City of
Solna, after less than a year of intensive negotiations, signed the agreement
on the expansion of the Metro and increased housing construction.
The Metro, currently transporting more than a million
travellers a day, will be expanded to accommodate even more passengers and to
permit the construction of 82,000 new homes. The government, county council and
municipalities have joined to fund the expansion project at the cost of SEK
28.6 billion.
Stockholm County Council is responsible for the expansion of
the new Metro: nearly 20 km of new track and 11 new stations on four different
sections to Nacka, to Arenastaden and to Barkarby. The Blue line will also be
extended to Gullmarsplan and connected to the Green Hagsätra line branch.
The 11.3 km extension of the Blue Line to Nacka (Sickla -
Järla - Nacka branch), Södermalm (Kungsträdgården - Sofia - Hammarby kanal branch)
and southern suburbs (Gullmarsplan - Slakthusområdet - Sockenplan branch) will
be constructed entirely underground, in rock tunnels. The construction is
planned to start on 2019.
The 4.1 km extension of the Yellow Line from Odenplan to
Arenastaden in Solna will have 3 new stations: Hagastaden, Södra Hagalund and
Arenastaden. The Yellow line will connect to the Green line at Odenplan.
All track tunnels will be constructed in rock. Arenastaden
station will be built 30 m below ground. The construction is planned to start
on 2019.
The 4 km underground extension of the Blue Line from Akalla
to Barkarby Station, will include the 2 new stations Barkarbystaden and
Barkarby. The rock tunnels construction is planned to start in 2018. Barkarby
Station will be about 30 metres below ground.
The depot in Högdalen, which will be used by both the Green
Line and the Blue Line, will be enlarged to meet the need for more staging
places in the future.T he track tunnel between the Farsta branch of the Green
Line and the Högdalen depot will be 2.5 km long. The construction is planned to
start on 2019.
