On the 22/10/2022 the 90m-long TBM EPB S90 (Sudarshan 8.3) completed the first 750 m long tunnel to the Begumpul station in Meerut on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor. The tunnel has been lined with 3500 pre-casted segments (1.5 m long and 275 mm thick) each ring is made up of 7 segments.  

The TBM will now be dismantled in the shaft: its cutter head and shield will be brought back to the launching shaft at Gandhi Park on trailers, while the backup gantry and the other parts of the machine will be sent back through the tunnel itself. The TBM will then be re-launched from the Gandhi Park shaft for the construction of the parallel tunnel.   

Meanwhile, two other TBMs EPB S88 (Sudarshan, 8.1) and S89 (Sudarshan 8.2), are boring 1.8 km long parallel tunnels from Bhaisali to Football Chawk.
