Line 3 for Bilbao metroCurrently Bilbao Metro has 40.61 km of rail tracks, with 38 stations of which 22 are underground. Line 1 and Line 2 serve the city centre and the Greater Bilbao area. The new 5,885 m-long Line 3 is under construction, and will be opened to the public in 2012. It will have seven stations: San Antonio in Etxebarri and Otxarkoaga, Txurdinaga, Zurbaranbarri, Casco Viejo, Uribarri and Matiko in Bilbao. The Txurdinaga-Casco Viejo section awarded to the JV Sacyr Vallehermoso S.A./Cavosa Obras y Proyectos S.A./Altuna y Uria S.A. has been designed entirely in tunnel.
