On 8 September 2025 at 3 p.m, a Services Conference will be held for the purpose of examining the final design for the doubling of the Genoa-Ventimiglia railway line: Finale Ligure – Andora section. 

The project involves the construction of a new double track line between the stations of Finale Ligure and Andora, as an alternative to the route currently in operation. This will be for the section between Andora and Finale Ligure, covering a distance of approximately 32 km, 25 km of which will be in tunnels. This will complete the doubling of the Genoa - Ventimiglia line, with RFI having already doubled the neighbouring sections in 2001 (Ospedaletti - San Remo) and 2016 (Andora - San Lorenzo) respectively. There are also plans to build the PRG (General Regulatory Plan) for Finale Ligure Station, Albenga and Andora Stations and Pietra Ligure, Borghetto Santo Spirito - Loano and Alassio (underground) stops. The stops at Borgio Verezzi, Loano, Ceriale and Laigueglia are to be removed.
