The ITA-CET is launching a series of lectures on Tuesday 9th March / 13 :00-14 :30 CET TIME
In these times of uncertainty, ITA-CET, the ITA committee dedicated to education and training, had to reinvent a way of sharing knowledge, best practices and case studies.
In 2021, ITA through its Committee on education and training together with ITA-CET Foundation launches a new monthly rendez-vous which will take place every 2nd Tuesday at 1 PM CET time. This new series of short online courses will be dedicated to specific topics exploring current issues and cutting-edge technologies used in tunnelling industry.
A NEW SERIES OF ONLINE COURSES
The speakers will give short lectures online and accessible to all. The aim is to keep the ecosystem abreast of new ideas and technologies, and to provide training on important subjects. These events also aim to gather top professionals from the ITA's Working Groups and Committees, as well as industry representatives and project owners.
A SECOND COURSE DEDICATED TO « CONTRACTUAL PRACTICES AND THE FIDIC EMERALD BOOK»
The subject of the second online Lunchtime lecture series will be on "contractual practices and the FIDIC emerald book". The session will include a case study from a contractor, lectures on the FIDIC Emerald book, and a Q&A session to finish. The session's proceedings:
- Contractor Case study, involving differing ground conditions in the US and a successfully avoided dispute
- Emerald Book, general introduction to concepts
- Emerald Book: the Geotechnical Baseline Report and the concept of unforeseeable physical conditions
Please note: The first presentation by the contractor will not be recorded, and therefore not available in the recording of the session sent out to participants after the event. We therefore advise you to watch the event live if possible!
Following on from this on Tuesday 13th April will be lecture devoted to Construction contracts and Health & Safety respectively.
