On behalf of the Greek Tunnelling Society (GTS) it is our great pleasure to inform you that the we have applied to host in Athens the ITA-AITES World Tunnel Congress (WTC) in 2023.

The Greek Tunnelling Society (GTS), a member nation of the International Tunnelling and Underground Associations (ITA – AITES), was established in 1995 and is a non-profit association with membership which aims to promote the environmental, social, technical and economic advantages of the construction and operation of tunnels and underground space. Athens is an ideal destination, combining state-of-the-art infrastructure, excellent conference facilities and easy access from all over the world with world-class cultural attractions, modern amenities, diverse entertainment and natural beauty. The city, offers unique experiences for everyone, from all over the world, and most importantly for delegates of the ITA family during the annual congress of 2023. The GTS is already well prepared and is committed to organize - for the first time in Greece - a successful and memorable ITA-AITES World Tunnel Congress 2023.

Currently, our efforts are focused on informing the international tunnelling community for the Greek candidacy and on sharing the pros of our proposal (https://athenswtc2023.gr/ ).
