Grand Paris Express  - December updates

Line 15 South - The excavation of this line involved 10 TBMs, which installed 128,000 segments and 18,500 rings. In 2019 TBM Steffie-Orbival was the first machine to complete its section, followed in 2020 by TBMs Mala and Amandine, in 2021 by TBMs Ellen, Aby, Camille, Laurence, Aïcha, Dieneba and Marina.  The last three TBMs Aicha, Dieneba and Marina completed their drives in November and December this year.  

TBM Aicha (diameter 10 m, length 95 m and weight over 1,500 t) - started from Bry - Villiers - Champigny station in January 2020 and has reached Salengro (Champigny-sur-Marne) after excavating the 3.1 km tunnel for Line 15 South. The TBM has now been dismantled and in January 2022 it will be removed from the construction site. The construction of this part of the tunnel was done by the Joint Venture Eiffage - Razel-Bec.   

TBM Dieneba - christened by the Vitry’s nurse Dieneba Diarra and launched on February 2021 from Bel Air shaft at Vitry-sur-Seine-  reached  the Centre d’Exploitation Vitry (1,1 km) in December 2021.   

TBM Marina, launched from Vitry-sur-Seine, completed its journey to Creteil l'Echat, after building 2.6 km of tunnel .For further information click here for the video and here.

Line 14 North - The TBM Valerie arrived at the underwater Cachin (Saint-Denis) manufact  last April. The phase of equipment systems is currently starting on this stretch that connects City Hall of Saint-Ouen to Saint-Denis Pleyel.  

Line 16 - TBM Ines completed the excavation of its first tunnel, followed by TBM  Sarah that reached Finot (Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine). At the beginning of 2021 TBM Mireille was christened in Chelles and it’s currently  driving the 5.3 km tunnel between Chelles and Sevran.    

Line 17 - TBM Florence, started out from Bonneuil-en-France, and has now driven the first 2 km and on 06/12/2021 reached the Le Bourget Airport station towards Rolland manufact at Bourget. TBM Dorine completed her first 1.1km section  once she arrived at the Bourget. The TBM has disassembled and is preparing to leave for a second underground section. 

Line 18 - The end of the year was marked by the christening of two more of the TBMs Celine and Caroline. On 16/12/2021 - two months after its christening, TBM Caroline began to drive the final part of its 6 km tunnel towards Aéroport d’Orly station.
