On Monday, September 29th, at approximately 4:00 PM, the TBM Berthe de Puybusque achieved its first breakthrough at Fondeyre Station. Having traversed over 1 km from the future La Vache-Le Grand Marché station, TBM Berthe de Puybusque will soon resume its journey towards its next milestone, the Ponts Jumeaux Station, entailing the excavation of a further 1.4 km of tunnel, and where the TBM will be dismantled and transported back to the future La Vache-Le Grand Marché station to undertake a 2.1 km section towards the future Raisin Station.
The TBM shield will be transferred by road convoy from Ponts Jumeaux to its departure station, and the 5 trailers will be transported through the tunnel. This is a delicate operation, considering the progress of the civil engineering work at this station and the existing constraints.
The consortium involved is Eiffage Génie Civil (Lead) - NGE - BTP for Tisséo Ingénierie Tisséo Collectivités.
Today Tuesday, October 14 th the TBM Marguerite de Catellan will reach the Saint Sauveur shaft completing its 4.3km section: click here for the video.
