Extension of line B of Lyon metroOn 02.03.2011 Herrenknecht TBM Agata entered the future Oullins station of the extension of Line B of Lyon metro. The event signalled completion of excavation of the 1.4 km Gerland-Oullins section, including a 300 m crossing of the Rhone river. The TBM started work on 27.09.2010, and installed 540 rings comprising a total of 4,320 segments. During the three stop weeks in Oullins station, the TBM will be refurbished and adapted for the next run which is through granitic ground. The civil engineering works were awarded to a consortium composed of Chantiers Modernes Rhône-Alpes, leader, Botte Fondations, EMCC and Tournaud (VINCI Construction France subsidiaries) and Dodin Campenon Bernard (VINCI Construction).
