On 01.04.2014 breakthrough was achieved at the1,840 m-long Cesana tunnel, part of the EUR131 million upgrading project of trunk road SS 24 Monginevro, section Cesana-Claviere. Work was interrupted in September, 2006 by the discovery of rocks containing asbestos in the final section of the tunnel. As a result, the first underground storage in Italy for special waste was designed and constructed. Cesana tunnel completion is scheduled for the end of 2014 `Click it/106.
