Excavation of the headrace tunnel from adit 1 to the de-silting chamber has been completed at Punatshangchhu-II HEP in Bhutan. The de-silting chamber helps clean up the raw water between intake and pressure tunnels. The water transfer system of the project is divided into six parts to facilitate construction. The project is funded by the government of India, which has released EUR284million to date, of which EUR258 million has already been committed.
