On the 27.02.2019 the Dogus Construction-Via Group Construct-Ultrastroy Joint Venture, completed the 5978 m tunnel using a TBM for the Sofia Metro Extension Project Line3, Lot 4 in Bulgaria.
The TBM EPB with a diameter 9.39 m, launched in January 2016, passed through 6 future stations (MC14, MC12, MC11, MC10, MC09, MC08) and excavated 5.978 m of 6.708 m long tunnel (8.5 m inner diameter) before reaching its exit shaft in Yanko Sakazov Blvd. The TBM installed 4077 rings (6+1) with 28,539 segments. The TBM will now be dismantled and taken out of the ground, but the work on drilling the tunnel will continue towards Vladimir Vazov Blv under another contract.
