Bangalore Metro Rail tunnelling to start soonWork has started on ramps and utilities diversion for the 3.4 km-long East-West underground section of Metro Rail alignment from MG Road to the Leprosy Hospital via Vidhana Soudha, KR Circle, KG Road and Majestic, together with four cut/cover stations. Contractor CEC-Soma JV expects delivery of two Hitachi Zosen slurry TBMs in November, and tunnelling should start before end-2010.
