BASF additives aid concrete set at Limberg IIThe Limberg II hydro generating station in the Hohe Tauern high mountain range of Austria features two huge rock caverns with associated tunnel system. Sprayed concrete was used to immediately secure the rock after blasting, with MEYCO SA 180 high performance set accelerator for exceptionally high early strength. Winter supply of materials to the concrete batching plant location at 2,000 m ASL had to be carefully managed in order to ensure continuous production.
