SICE (Sociedad Iberica de Construcciones Electricas) has been awarded the control and communication systems package for the Port of Miami Tunnel Project. Bouygues Civil Works Florida (BCWF) is the prime contractor and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is the final client. The package covers two control systems: the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS); and the tunnel Supervisory, Control & Data Acquisition System (SCADA). Also the communication network and telephone systems. Two operation buildings, one at Watson Island the other at Dodge Island and the FDOT Sunguide District 6 Traffic Management Center will be furnished to allocate the main control and maintenance facilities.
