Amalgamated Construction Company awarded $6 million contract for 1 km-long, 2.1 m-diameter bolted segment lined tunnel with three shafts up to 20 m depth and 600 m construction in opencut together with ancillary works. A Dosco boom header shield complete with segment erector and full back-up equipment will be used to construct the bolted concrete segmental tunnel through coal measures. The remainder of the contract works include shafts, box culverts, an outfall structure, river crossings, pipejacking and conventional sewer installation in opencut.
