The Consortium composed of Indra (35%), Alstom (35%) and Constructora San Jose (30%) has awarded Zitron with the supply and commissioning of the tunnel ventilation system for the 25 km High-Speed Rail twin-tube tunnels of Pajares.
The project includes a longitudinal system, comprising the installation of 212 jet fans, distributed throughout the tunnels. These units are designed and certified to work at 400ºC during at least two hours and are completely made of 316L quality stainless steel to withstand the harsh environmental conditions of the tunnel. In addition, special attention has been paid to their reinforced design, as they must be able to withstand pressures of up to 10,000 Pa produced by the piston effect of high-speed trains.
