The Joint Venture Contratas y Ventas (Convensa) and FCC Industrial e Infraestructuras Energeticas secured the EUR 15 million contract for the track and electrification of the 17.5km Eastern Bypass of Valladolid, including the 1.1 km Tramposos viaduct and a 2.1 km tunnel. The Eastern Bypass of Valladolid, in conventional gauge, will provide continuity on a double track to the Madrid-Hendaya line, which will be used for freight traffic. Once in service, it will accommodate the passage of all freight trains, which represents 25% of the current rail traffic at the Valladolid-Campo Grande station. Duration of contract 18 months.
