Rua al-Madinah Holding (RMH) Co, a 100% subsidiary of the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), have awarded to China Railway 18th Bureau Group Company the EUR 924.35 million (CNY5bn/USD974 million) contract for the Madinah Tunnel Project. Which includes the AH tunnel, the Ali Bin Abi Talib tunnel, the airport tunnel, a pedestrian bridge and various auxiliary projects near the city of Madinah (Medina) . The total length of the tunnels are about 5 km and the construction period is 42 months. The project, will enable Al-Amida road to serve as an alternative to the current ring road by expanding the roadway to six lanes, upgrading the Ali bin Abi Taleb traffic tunnel, and connecting Al-Amida to the King Faisal ring road.
