Open call for bids, deadline 8th October, 2007 for construction plans including tender documents for the 11.5 km Sky-Langangen section on the 4-lane motorway E18 between Vestfold and Telemark counties. The section includes four twin bored tunnels: Pauler (2 x 450 m), Maleroed (2 x 250 m), Sandbekkaasane (2 x 160 m) and Hobekkseter (2 x 370 m) and one cut-and-cover tunnel in Solum (2 x 75 m). Norwegian profile T9.5. The whole distance of the project contains rocks of a plutonic complex, made up essentially of monzonitic rocks, mainly larvikite. Construction method to be drilling and blasting. Because the project runs through one of the world's richest fields of Larvikite (Norwegian pearl granite and one of the world's most precious building stones), there will be restrictions for the blasting. The expected date for publication of tenders for construction is September 2008. Work commencement is hoped for December 2008. The total cost of all five tunnels is approx NOK215 million (2006 price).
