Open call for tenders, deadline 22nd June, 2006 for refurbishment of the Haukeli and Roldal tunnels on the E134. Their respective lengths are 5,682 m and 4,657 m. The upgrading works also include two other tunnels: Svandalsflona (1,053 m) and Seljestad (1,272 m). The works to be performed consist of profile expansion of the Haukeli, Roldal and Svandalsflona tunnels to a height of 4.2 m, water protection with fireproofing foam, demolition of the existing electrical, lighting and traffic control systems and installation of new ones, as well as repair of portals and concrete superstructures. All the tunnels are single tube tunnels, with one lane in each direction.
