The Consortium Hirpinia Orsara AV secured the EUR1.07 bn contract, excluding VAT, for the design and construction of Lot2 Hirpinia-Orsara section (km 40+889.793 - km 68+953.375) of the Naples to Bari highspeed railway line. The new Orsara-Hirpinia section will be about 28 km long and run mostly in a tunnel for about 27 km. The speed at which the trains will be able to reach along the new line is 250 km per hour apart from when they are at the open extremities where they will reach 200 km per hour.
