Hong Kong Highways Department has invited tenders for the construction contract for a tunnelled section of the Central-Wan Chai Bypass. Works commence in March 2013 for completion in January 2017. The main elements of the work include construction of a section of tunnel structure in the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter (CBTS); the Slip Road 8 tunnel structure beneath the existing Victoria Park Road; an extension of pedestrian subway beneath the existing Tsing Fung Street westbound and the associated roadworks and associated drainage and sewerage works.
