VIATEC 2008 - Show on Road Construction and Infrastructure Maintenance in Mountainous AreasVIATEC will take place from 20th to 22nd February, 2008 in Bolzano, in northern Italy's South Tyrol. The event will inform on the new procedures to construct and maintain roads, on road site conditions and on highly specialised engineering services. A congress for companies and technicians of the industry but also for public operators will be the opportunity to learn useful information on the management and planning of construction sites. The speakers will be public agencies and private managers from the industry, engineers operating in research institutes and control authorities.Module 2 of the congress on 20th February will deal with safety. One paper will focus on the safety systems in the future Brenner base tunnel. Module 6 on 22nd February will be dedicated to innovations. Papers of interest will deal with the information and warning system in a tunnel on the Bolzano-Merano expressway; the innovative systems for the management of emergencies in tunnel (example of the Virgolo tunnel on the A22); and photometric measurements in tunnel: optimising maintenance and improving safety.
